My Story
I’ve been a spiritual seeker my whole life. Now that I am in my mid-40s and have had an awakening to my soul’s purpose and passion in life, I can see that my true nature was always there, beckoning to me, sometimes quietly and sometimes strongly, calling for my attention. Through the many challenges, obstacles, and joys of my life, I see from this new vantage point that I was dancing between my soul’s calling and my unconscious conditioning in the many choices I made. While I do not have any obvious regrets, and I honor the deep learning that I had to undergo, I am choosing to step fully into my soul's calling now and let go of all of the conditioning in order to live the truth of my being.
With that said, I feel inspired to guide others into an awareness of their soul’s essence, purpose, and passion NOW. We can wake up from our unconscious conditioning NOW, and I feel the world is calling us into this place of conscious awareness to the Love and Truth that exists in and around us, to bring forth the JOY OF BEING IN THE AUTHENTIC ESSENCE OF OUR SOUL. And from this perspective, we can enact the service to humanity that is needed at this time while being in our joy.
Spiritual Midwifery
I began my path as a midwife in 1999. I attended home births, birth center births, and hospital births first as a doula, then as an apprentice, then as a nursing student, and then as a Nurse-Midwifery student. I graduated from UCSF medical school, and after a short stint working as a Certified Nurse-Midwife in a hospital, I started a home birth practice in Hawaii. I have assisted at hundreds of births.
I believe that the imprint women and babies receive during pregnancy and childbirth creates a consciousness that is carried throughout life. Women’s empowerment and support during this major rite of passage is critical for the deeper trust in the mysteries of life. I birthed my two children naturally, with the first being a homebirth transport and the second I birthed by myself in my home.
Guided by Nature
Yoga Devotee
I began studying yoga while studying Psychology at UCBerkeley. I moved to Mount Madonna Center in 1999 to study with Baba Hari Dass. I was blessed to have a personal relationship with Babaji as an initiate. He taught me many forms of yoga, and I continue to embody and practice karma yoga, bhakti yoga, raja yoga, tantra yoga, and many forms of meditation, asanas, and pranayama. I have taught beginning and prenatal yoga for many years. Karma yoga and bhakti yoga are my foundational practices for living a life of service and devotion and living from the love in my heart and to the truth of pure consciousness.
